About GovGalaxy
Through Election Day, November 3, 2026, GovGalaxy is a guide to early voting in every state: the dates each state has set, and the ballot counts states publish themselves, each linked to its official source.
What this site covers right now
The map shows every state and D.C. as an equal tile, with its early voting dates. Early vote has the official counts, state by state. GovGalaxy's broader map of public information (members of Congress, committees, bills, elections, and places, each showing where it comes from) returns after Election Day.
Who runs GovGalaxy
GovGalaxy is operated by Schade Interactive LLC and was founded by Mark Schade, whose background is in lobbying, government, politics, and campaigns. He has no current clients and is not a registered lobbyist. GovGalaxy isn't affiliated with any party, campaign, or candidate.
Not an official government service. For voting hours, places, and rules where you live, check your state or local election office.
How we check numbers
- Official sources only. Every date and number comes from a state or county election office and links to it, with the date and time we retrieved it.
- Automated or checked by hand. Most counts are collected automatically from the state's own files. Where a state's page can't be read automatically, the numbers are entered by hand from the official page and checked by a second person, and the page says so.
- Twice a day. We check for updates twice a day. States update on their own schedules and sometimes revise earlier numbers.
Methods and neutrality
- The states' own figures. GovGalaxy shows each state's numbers as published. We don't estimate, adjust, or project them.
- Ballots, not votes. These numbers count ballots cast or returned. They don't show who anyone voted for, and they aren't results.
- Party registration. Party appears only where a state reports the party registration of early voters, which isn't how they voted. Party splits for other states that appear elsewhere are estimates, not official numbers.
- Comparing states. States count and report differently and on different days, so their totals aren't directly comparable, and we don't add them together.
- Unknowns stay visible. When a date isn't confirmed on an official page, we say so instead of guessing.
